Solid wood flooring offers timeless elegance and durability and is exactly what the name implies: a solid piece of wood from top to bottom. The thickness of solid wood flooring can vary, but generally ranges from ¾” thick standard mill to the older milled sizes that we have available 3/8” and ½” thick milled wood used for repairs of the older homes in San Diego. The width of the Solid Flooring also varies from a standard of 2-1/4" to 5". Personal preference and cost are the factors in choosing a width. One of the many benefits of solid wood flooring is that it can be sanded and refinished many times as well as stained any color. Once installed it has a smooth look without a beveled edge. Solid wood flooring can be installed above or on grade either Nailed, Stapled or Glued Down. Pre-finished Solid Flooring is also available and can be glued down if the lengths are shorter than 4'. This style will have a beveled edge.
